There are now three different "League" channels and they live on two different satellites. SatBeams lists a new Nova Sports 2 League on Hot Bird 13F, while the two Cosmote launches on Eutelsat 9B from 4 and 5 November are recapped below so the three are never confused. On the same day, seventeen Russian sports services were re-listed on ABS-2A at 75°E — none of them new, all of them worth knowing about if you scan that arc — and in East Africa the week's biggest sports story reached the screen: SuperSport Swahili launched on 5 November on DStv channel 216 and GOtv channel 570.

A third "League" channel — on a different satellite

SatBeams' 5 November transponder bulletin lists one genuinely new sports channel: Nova Sports 2 League, started on Eutelsat Hot Bird 13F at 11938.00 MHz, horizontal, symbol rate 30000, FEC 5/6, in the Nova package, encrypted in Irdeto, high definition, SID 7110, with English and Greek audio. That name will look familiar to anyone who read yesterday's edition — and that is exactly the trap. Yesterday's two new channels were Novasports1 League HD and Novasports2 League HD, both from Cosmote, both on Eutelsat 9B at 9°E, both encrypted in VideoGuard: Novasports1 League HD on 12398.70 MHz horizontal (SID 1104, started 4 November at 05:50) and Novasports2 League HD on 12283.60 MHz horizontal (SID 1007, started 5 November at 00:59). The Hot Bird channel is spelled "Nova Sports 2 League" with spaces, sits on a different satellite at 13°E, uses different encryption, and carries a different SID. Three channels, three frequencies, two satellites, two encryption systems — treat them as three separate manual entries and check the SID on screen before assuming a scan result is the channel you wanted.

Two more changes come from KingOfSat's Thursday 5 November section. KHL Prime HD has a new frequency on Belintersat 1 at 51.5°E: 11350.00 MHz, horizontal, symbol rate 45000, FEC 3/4, SID 2141, video PID 4111, audio PID 4121 in Russian, DVB-S2 DRE-Crypt — a hockey service, and note the name: it is not the same service as KHL Prime or КХЛ on ABS-2A, both of which appear in the reshuffle table below. In the other direction, Nova Sport 6 has left Intelsat 10-02 at 0.8°W: it was on 12527.30 MHz horizontal, SID 8015, in the Telly package, and it is no longer transmitted. KingOfSat's latest dated section is still Thursday 5 November — no Friday 6 November section existed at check time — and SatBeams' 6 November bulletin had not been published yet (HTTP 404 at check time), so any later 6 November rows belong in tomorrow's edition.

ABS-2A: seventeen Russian sports rows re-listed in one day

SatBeams' 5 November bulletin is dominated by a giant reshuffle on ABS-2A at 75°E — 450 rows in one day as the MTS TV and Trikolor bouquets were re-listed en masse. Seventeen of those rows are sports services, and they are all marked "updated", not "new": no frequency changed for any of them, and the rows are reported here so readers who scan 75°E know the services are still carried and exactly where. The football cluster is the largest: Football on 11559V, Match! Football 1 and Telekanal Futbol on 11920V, and two different Match! services on 11980V — one free-to-air in HD (SID 9053) and one encrypted in SD (SID 9003). Fight fans get Match! Boets and M-1 Global TV, hockey gets KHL Prime, КХЛ and Khokkey TV on three different transponders, boxing gets Boks TV, volleyball gets Telekanal Voleybol free-to-air, and MMA-TV.com and both Russkij Extrem services round out the list. Four of the seventeen are free-to-air — the HD Match! on 11980V, MMA-TV.com, Telekanal Voleybol and Russkij Extrem — while the rest need an MTS TV or Trikolor subscription.

The channel this blog has tracked all week is now on air. SuperSport Swahili launched on Thursday 5 November 2026 as a 24-hour Kiswahili sports channel for Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, the headline sports addition to MultiChoice's new "Expect More" packages. It sits on DStv channel 216 on the Sports and Ultimate packages, and on GOtv channel 570 on the Sports package, and it is also available on the DStv App. The opening fixture was UEFA Europa League football — Crystal Palace against Hoffenheim on Thursday 5 November at 20:45 East Africa Time — and the first weekend brings Arsenal against Hull City on Saturday and the LaLiga meeting of Atletico Madrid and Barcelona on Sunday, all in Kiswahili. Same name, different channel — again

That is the practical lesson of this edition, and it now applies three times over. On the Greek side, Nova Sports 2 League (Hot Bird 13F, Irdeto), Novasports2 League HD (Eutelsat 9B, VideoGuard) and Novasports1 League HD (Eutelsat 9B, VideoGuard) are three different services, and a blind scan that finds one does not find the others. On the Russian side, "Match!" is four services — 11800V in UHD, 11980V in HD free-to-air, 11980V in SD encrypted, plus the separate channels Match! Football 1 and Match! Boets — and "KHL" is three: KHL Prime on 11860V, КХЛ on the same transponder with a different SID, and KHL Prime HD on Belintersat 1 with a new frequency. Enter the exact frequency, symbol rate and SID for the service you want, check the SID on screen, and match the encryption to your subscription before assuming a scan result is the channel you were looking for. On the package side, the same rule holds: SuperSport Swahili is on DStv channel 216 and GOtv channel 570, but only on the Sports and Ultimate tiers — a Select subscriber in Kenya pays KSh 1,500 more a month to reach it, and the channel is not on the Starter tier at all.

If you scan ABS-2A at 75°E, expect a long re-listing: the seventeen rows above did not move, so do not delete and re-add them, and use the SID to tell the two 11980V Match! services apart — the free-to-air HD one is SID 9053 and the encrypted SD one is SID 9003. If you are a DStv or GOtv subscriber in Kenya, Tanzania or Uganda, tune to channel 216 on DStv or 570 on GOtv for SuperSport Swahili, and check your tier first if it is missing — it is on Sports and Ultimate only.
