Global Satellite Channels October 18, 2026: Quiet Day Status

A genuinely quiet 24 hours across the arc: zero new TV or radio records dated October 17–18 on KingOfSat, an empty Saturday daily log, and LyngSat pages that all predate the window. Below: exactly what we checked, why the silence is technical rather than real, and the six watch items we are tracking into tomorrow.

Global satellite channels daily update October 18, 2026 — worldwide dish array monitoring satellite feeds

⚡ Quick Answer

In the 24-hour window (2026-10-17 11:00 PKT → 2026-10-18 11:00 PKT) we screened roughly 300 records across KingOfSat and LyngSat and verified 0 new TV/radio channel records. KingOfSat’s system was clearly active (overnight scan header reads 2026-10-18 00:32 CET) but produced only transport-stream rescan labels — no service-level changes. The single dated removal (“Aurora Zapper bootload”) is a data service, not a watchable channel. No BISS keys were officially issued for anything in this report.

🔍 Why “Zero” Is the Real News Today

A quiet day does not mean nothing happened overhead — it means the trackers are mid-transition. KingOfSat is rolling out a new blindscan database, and that shows in every page we opened today:

1. The overnight scan ran, but changed nothing

KingOfSat’s additions/changes page carries a fresh header — “Most recent updates: 2026-10-18 00:32 CET” — so the scanners were up overnight. But all 109 service records are dated October 16 or earlier; the only rows stamped 10-17/10-18 are transport-stream (TSID) rescan labels with no services under them. The system rescanned transponders and found the channel lineup unchanged.

2. Saturday’s daily log is completely empty

KingOfSat’s news.php now shows a “Saturday 17 October 2026” section — and it contains no entries at all, for the whole of October 17. The new “Sunday 18 October 2026” section is also empty. The Friday 16 October items are all things we already reported in the 08:00 BISS slot, so there is no hidden news in the log either.

3. LyngSat pages are frozen before the window

Every LyngSat satellite page we checked — Thaicom 6, Rascom QAF 1R, Intelsat 17, Astra 2F — carries a “last updated” footer of 2026-10-16, which predates our window. LyngSat simply has not published new dated changes in the last 48 hours, and its tempFTA equivalent on KingOfSat is stale (last update 2026-10-10).

4. The only dated removal is not a channel

KingOfSat’s removals page (header 2026-10-18 00:34 CET) contains exactly one record dated 2026-10-17 — “Aurora Zapper bootload” (SID 408, VPID 8191, Clear). That is a data/bootload service used to update receiver firmware, not a TV or radio channel you can watch. It is worth exactly one line, and this is it.

The honest reading: with the new blindscan system still bedding in, service-level updates are delayed, not absent. When the backlog clears, expect a catch-up batch — and we will be screening it.

🔍 What We Checked Today

Every record below is dated. Here is exactly what was checked, when, and what each source showed:

# Source Checked Finding
1KingOfSat new.php~11:10 PKT“Most recent updates: 2026-10-18 00:32 CET” — zero service records dated 10-17/10-18; 10-17/10-18 rows are TSID rescan labels only
2KingOfSat news.php~11:15 PKTSaturday 17 Oct section exists but is empty; Sunday 18 Oct section empty; Friday items all previously reported
3KingOfSat removals~11:18 PKT38 records, header 2026-10-18 00:34 CET — only one dated 2026-10-17: “Aurora Zapper bootload” (data service, not a channel)
4KingOfSat tempFTA~11:20 PKTStale — last update 2026-10-10 00:48 CET; no service records in window
5LyngSat Thaicom 6 / Rascom QAF 1R / Intelsat 17 / Astra 2F~11:22 PKTAll four pages last updated 2026-10-16 — predating the window; carry-forward items only (MRTV Sports, IndiaSign, Parole di Vita)

👀 Watch List: Six Items We Are Still Tracking

Quiet days are for watching the open questions. Here is the status of every carry-forward item as of this morning:

# Item Position Status Today

🔒 Authorized Access Info

Officially issued BISS / PowerVu keys in the last 24 hours: 0. No key was officially published by any broadcaster or operator for any item in this report, and none is printed here.

On a quiet day this is the point worth repeating: never trust a “new keys” post dated for a day with no recorded channel changes. The satellite arc did not change its lineup today; any key claimed to be new today is stale, fabricated, or both. Watch only what is free-to-air, and pay only for legitimate subscriptions.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Why are there no new channels today?

Because the trackers did not log any, not because nothing will ever change. KingOfSat is mid-migration to a new blindscan database — its overnight scan ran (header: 2026-10-18 00:32 CET) but produced only transport-stream rescan labels, and its Saturday daily log is empty. Service-level updates are delayed, not cancelled; a catch-up batch is likely once the transition settles.

Should I still rescan my receiver today?

There is nothing new to pick up, so a rescan today only helps if you are missing channels reported before October 17 — for example the RTVi channels that appeared on new Turksat 3A transponders or the 9 Ethiopian FTA channels on NSS 12 57°E (both covered in our October 18 BISS update). For those, enter the transponder and scan single frequency rather than blind-scanning everything.

What does a “TSID rescan label” mean?

KingOfSat’s new system first rescans a transponder’s transport stream (TSID) and records that the scan happened, before it processes which services changed. Today’s labels mean: “we scanned, and the lineup was unchanged.” It is a heartbeat, not a news item — which is why we do not count it as a record.

Are the unnamed Sky SIDs 2117–2119 real channels?

They are real slots on Astra 2F 11305.30 H, still labeled generic “Sky Digital” placeholders with no audio/video identification. An unnamed slot usually resolves into a named channel when the provider is ready — that is exactly why it sits at the top of our watch list.

What is the “Aurora Zapper bootload” removal?

A data service (SID 408) that receivers use to fetch firmware updates — not a TV or radio channel. Its removal changes nothing you can watch; it only means that particular update path is gone. We mention it for completeness and nothing more.

Will tomorrow’s report be quieter too?

Possibly — but watch the KoS news.php Saturday section. It currently has zero entries for the whole of October 17; if KingOfSat backfills Saturday’s log, tomorrow’s report will include those records. Either way, we screen the full window again every morning at 11:00 PKT.

🎯 Conclusion

October 18, 2026 is a genuine quiet day: zero new TV or radio records across KingOfSat and LyngSat, with the satellite trackers mid-transition to KingOfSat’s new blindscan database. The day’s only dated removal (“Aurora Zapper bootload”) is a data service, not a channel, and no official keys were issued. The six watch items — led by the unnamed Sky placeholders on 28.2°E — carry into tomorrow. Check back at 11:00 PKT: if KingOfSat backfills Saturday’s empty log, the catch-up batch lands here first.
